The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States is hosting a workshop for the development of the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute, which is organized by the Africa-Arab Cultural Institute on the 13th and 14th of March 2023. The workshop brought together the management of the Institute, the concerned departments of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, the African Union Commission, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization, and a number of experts in Africa-Arab cultural areas.
The workshop was opened by Ambassador Dr. Khaled bin Muhammad Manzalawi, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the International Political Affairs Sector of the General Secretariat, who stressed the role of the Institute as an important body of Arab-African cooperation, he also emphasized the need to provide all necessary support to it and to revitalize it to play its role in bringing the Arab and African peoples closer.
The workshop aims to develop a viable action plan to overcome the challenges facing the Institute, analyze its current conditions, review its statute and brainstorm ideas about its development. A mid-term review of the Strategic Plan 2021-2024 was also proposed, and steps were proposed to implement Resolution No. 5 of the Fourth Africa-Arab Summit, so that the Institute would contribute to strengthening Arab-African cultural cooperation and develop a strategic plan to mobilize financial resources to enhance the Institute’s capabilities to implement its projects.
